10 Fun Roadside Attractions to Visit on a Mother’s Day Road Trip

Many people prefer to travel by car and see a special charm in it. You can always stop to go to a cafe or see the sights. Our review contains photos of various funny structures and buildings that simply cannot fail to attract the attention of motorists, at least because of their enormous size. So, see below roadside attractions for Mother’s day.

Giant Guitar:

In Australia, in one of the oldest states of the country – New South Wales, by the road, next to one of the motels, you can see a monument to the largest guitar. An unusual building was erected for one of the music festivals that took place in the last century.

Teapot House:

The teapot house was built in the USA near the road along which the 29th President of the USA Warren Gamaliel Harding once made a “journey of understanding”. The shape of the building was chosen for a reason, as the teapot symbolizes the corruption scandal that was similar in name during the years of Harding’s presidency.

The Largest Donut:

The Randy’s Donuts eatery is one of the most famous roadside establishments in the United States. The cafe is located near the Los Angeles International Airport. Randy’s Donuts is known not only for its delicious donuts but also for the sculpture of the largest donut in the world, located on the roof of the establishment.

The Largest Thermometer:

In the United States, in the state of California, you can find the largest thermometer in the world on one of the roads. The thermometer was installed in honor of the temperature record recorded in the United States – 57 degrees Celsius. The record was noted in Death Valley on July 10, 1913.

The Largest Potato:

The largest potato, oddly enough, can be found in Australia. There is a sculpture of a root vegetable near one of the federal roads. It was once built to mark the potato center, but the project was closed, and the monument remained.

The Largest Pumpkin:

The largest pumpkin sculpture can be found at the entrance to the town of Rowland, Canada. The monument was erected in honor of one of the local residents who grew the largest pumpkin in 1977 and got into the Guinness Book of Records for this.

The Largest Fork:

The largest fork is located in the USA, in the state of Missouri, in the city of Springfield. In honor of what was this hypertrophied cutlery installed? Just like that. It is nothing more than a funny 11-ton installation.

The Largest Moose:

The largest moose, or rather the largest moose sculpture, was installed in honor of this proud animal in Canada, in Moose Jaw. Today, the moose is the city’s first landmark.

Giant Basket:

In the US, in the city of Newark, you can see a basket of simply incredible size. The wicker bag is larger than a residential building! In fact, this is not a monument or an installation at all, but the headquarters of the Longaberger company, which is engaged in (what a surprise!) the production of wicker (and not only) baskets.

Dino House:

A dinosaur house was built in California. Its creator is sculptor Claude Bell. The house is uninhabited and serves as an advertisement for a roadside cafe nearby. Many tourists stop here to take photos.
